Photos from my ptarmigan hunt

I was in Newfoundland in October and was hunting with my brother-in-law for 3 days. Here are some pictures from the trip. I didn't get any of the dog on point due to the cold temperatures forcing me to warm the batteries in my hands before I could take a picture.

Waiting for me to allow him to lay down again. The plants that look like little sticks are very hard on a dogs feet.

Finally getting to lay down again. The birds on the left are a couple of Greenwing Teal that we came across in a small pond.

I will try to post some more pictures if I remember to bring my camera along and not leave it in the truck. Embarassed

I was guiding and using my dog on a hunt at my friends place and missed out on some great pictures of him on point, including him backing my friends GSP.

Here is a bonus picture of a goose and duck hunt about a month ago about 4 km from my house with two of my friends. We used my friends GSP, 12.5 years old, as it was probably his last hunt. Michael that is why I need a big female to handle the geese. The goose season isn't over yet, hopefully we can get out again to hunt.

If someone could translate into french I would appreciate it. Respondez en francais.

Je rentre de vacances, voila une traduction:

J'etais dans le Newfoundland en Octobre, a chasser avec mon beau-frere pendant 3 jours. Voila quelques images du sejour. Je n'ai pas reussi a avoir un chien a l'arret a cause du froid qui m'a oblige a rechauffer les batteries dans mes mains avant de pouvoir prendre une image.

Il etait exite quand la photo a ete prise.

Avec un des setters de mon beau-frere.

Apres avoir rapporte l'oiseau.

Attendant que je lui permette de se re-coucher. Les plantes qui ressemblent a des batons sont tres dures pour les coussinets des chiens.

Il peut enfin se re-coucher. Les oiseaux sur la gauche sont un couple de "Greenwing Teal" (Colvert en francais?) qui traversaient un petit etang.

J'essaierai de poster plus de photos si je pense a amener mon appareil photo avec moi au lieu de le laisser dans le camion. Je servais de guide et utilisais mon chien chez un ami et j'ai manque quelques belles photos de lui a l'arret, y compris patronant avec un braque allemand.

Voila une photo bonus d'une oie et un canard il y a un mois a environ 4km de ma maison avec 2 de mes amis. On a utilise le braque allemand de mon ami, 12 ans et demi, comme c'est sans doute sa derniere chasse. Michael, c'est pour ca que j'ai besoin d'une grosse femelle pour s'occuper des oies. La saison des oies n'est pas encorfe finie, j'espere qu'on pourra encore sortir chasser.
